Alternatively, there is a direct bus service departing from Port Talbot Parkway’s Stand 5 to Romney Road, right near the beach. The buses, operated by First South & West Wales, run every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday, with a journey time of around 14 minutes. While there is no free shuttle bus directly from the station to the beach, the frequent bus service and taxi rank offer reliable alternatives.

Port Talbot Parkway station is managed by Transport for Wales and offers a range of facilities to ensure a comfortable journey. The ticket office, located along the footbridge, is open Monday to Friday from 05:30 to 18:30, Saturdays from 06:00 to 19:00, and Sundays from 10:00 to 17:30. Covering 27 miles, this route offers quick access to the beach, with the first train departing at 00:22 and the last at 23:20. Both GWR and Transport for Wales operate on this line, with trains featuring modern amenities and first-class seating available on select services.

Bristol to Aberavon Beach

Bristol Parkway provides around 27 trains per day to Port Talbot Parkway, with journey times of 1h 4m. This 53-mile journey is operated by Great Western Railway, offering passengers several options to suit schedules. First trains depart at 00:45 and the last at 23:33. First Class is available, providing extra comfort for this short yet scenic trip, offering views of the Severn Estuary and the Welsh countryside.
