Heathrow Airport train stations and terminals

The nearest train station to Heathrow Airport depends on your flight’s terminal. All of Heathrow’s three stations have step-free access from the train to the terminal. Staff are available to help from the departure/arrival of the first and last trains. Rail transfers between terminal stations are free.

󱍉Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3:

It’s approximately a ten-minute walk between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 via covered and moving walkways. Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 station is closer to Terminal 3 than Terminal 2.

󱍉Heathrow Terminal 4:

With a pedestrian underpass, getting to Terminal 4 arrivals and departures from Heathrow Terminal 4 station takes around 10–15 minutes.

󱍉Heathrow Terminal 5:

Heathrow’s newest terminal is roughly ten minutes from Heathrow Terminal 5 station on foot via the covered walkways.

London to Heathrow Airport trains

Two direct trains stop at stations in Heathrow Airport: the Elizabeth line and the Heathrow Express, a dedicated non-stop service. Both alight at London Paddington station and accept Oyster and contactless payments. The Elizabeth line also serves local stations across Greater London.

The Elizabeth line stops at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, Heathrow Terminal 4 and Heathrow Terminal 5. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get from London Paddington to Heathrow Terminal 5. Up to six trains run an hour, operating from 04:36 to 23:24 (or 05:12 to 22:48 on Sundays). Train fares vary depending on the travel time and the zones you travel through, starting from around £12.80.

The Heathrow Express is the fastest train to Heathrow Airport, taking just 15 minutes to travel from Paddington to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, and 21 minutes to Heathrow Terminal 5. Trains depart every 15 minutes and run from 04:34 (7:40 on Sundays) to 23:25. Single tickets are approximately £25.00 for Standard Class and £32.00 for Business First Class, and Open Return fares start from £40.00 (Standard Class) and £46.00 (Business First). Cheap train tickets start from £10.00 with an Advance fare (Standard Class only). You can also save up to 1/3 off with a Railcard.
