London is home to a wealth of world-class arenas and stadia, and the O2 is regarded as one of the most iconic music venues in the capital. If you’re heading to one of the world’s most vibrant music venues, you’ll be pleased to hear that getting to the O2 by train is simple and rapid thanks to London’s efficient public transport system.

This guide explains everything you need to know for finding trains to the O2, including train operators, arriving stations, and the best way to buy cheap train tickets. It also includes important information about the O2 arena, nearby attractions, and advice to help you make the most of your trip.

The O2 is a multi-purpose indoor arena on the Greenwich Peninsula, south of the River Thames. As host to world music tours, sporting events, and more, the O2 is one of the top three indoor venues with the highest seating capacity in the UK. With an interior floor area of over 861,000 square feet, the arena was designed by architect Sir Richard Rogers.

Having undergone extensive renovations, the O2 opened in its present form in 2007 – and has since been used as a venue for the 2012 Summer Olympics and for headlining artists such as Ariana Grande, Madonna, Olivia Rodrigo, The Killers, Sabrina Carpenter, and many more.

Getting to the O2 by train

Located in southeast London, the O2 is well connected to all corners of the capital by the London Underground network. The nearest tube station to the O2 is North Greenwich, which links travellers to stations like Canary Wharf, London Bridge, Bond Street, Baker Street, and Wembley Park, via the Jubilee Line.

For visitors arriving at the O2 by train, you can get the train to London Bridge, then take the Jubilee Line to North Greenwich. From here, it is only a two minutes’ walk to the O2 along a well-signposted path. London Bridge is a busy central London hub that brings more than 50 million passengers into and out of the capital each year. The main operators at the station are Southeastern, Southern, and Thameslink, and the station is managed by Network Rail.

Trains for the O2 arrive into London Bridge from places like Peterborough, Dartford, Horsham, and London Charing Cross. Inside the station, travellers can find seating areas, step-free access to all platforms, and accessible toilets for a comfortable and secure travel experience.

Passengers arriving into London at other stations can easily travel across London on the Underground. For example, if your train gets into London Euston, you can take the Northern Line to London Bridge, then the Jubilee Line to the O2. However you travel, remember to buy cheap train tickets when you book in advance with TrainPal.
