With headliners The Cure, Lewis Capaldi and Calvin Harris (as well as performances from Wet Leg, Tom Grennan and Teddy Swims), Isle of Wight Festival returns in 2026 with one of their strongest line-ups yet.
Given there’s a significant amount of sea in between mainland England and the Isle of Wight, it’s not as simple as just hopping on a train to the festival. However, you can make travel significantly easier by getting the train to Yarmouth, where you will find a conveniently located Ferry Terminal for the remainder of your journey.
Wimbledon Championships (29 June - July 12)
Renowned as one of the largest and most celebrated championships in tennis, Wimbledon is a must-visit for die-hard fans of the sport and those looking for a sun-soaked day of celebrations alike.
Visitors can take a train to Wimbledon station, which is a short walk or bus ride from the All England Club, the tournament's venue.
Reading & Leeds Festival (27-30 August)
Hosted across two titular English cities, these legendary weekend festivals feature everything from hip hop and pop to metal and dance music, with a shared line-up that alternates each day. This year, headliners include Charli XCX, Chase & Status, Dave, Florence & the Machine, and more.
For Reading Festival, you will want to get a train to Reading Station, which is conveniently close to the grounds. Alternatively, Leeds Festival is served by Leeds Station, where you can easily hop on local transport to reach the festival grounds.
Notting Hill Carnival (30 - 31 August)
Europe's largest street party, the Notting Hill Carnival, is a vibrant celebration of British-Caribbean music and dance and not one to overlook, taking over London with joy and celebration every year.
To get there, take a train to London Paddington or Notting Hill Gate Underground station, both of which are conveniently located along the carnival’s route.
