London Euston to Gatwick Airport Trains From €19.99*

While there is no direct train service from London Euston to Gatwick Airport, you can easily hop on the London Underground for the Gatwick Express - and still get to the airport in under an hour. Take the Victoria line (departing every two minutes) to London Victoria station. Gatwick Express trains run every half hour. The entire journey takes approximately 55 minutes. Sit back and enjoy the suburban landscape along the way.

Gatwick Express runs express services to Gatwick Airport from London and Brighton. Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and Preston Park are also on its route.

Departing from London Euston

If you’re starting your journey at London Euston, you’ll need to get to London Victoria station for the London to Gatwick train. The Victoria line on the London Underground network connects both stations.

London Euston is easily accessible by bus (a bus station is in front of the main entrance), rail and the Northern line on the London Underground. Trains are operated by Avanti West Coast, West Midlands Railway, Great Western Railway (GWR), Caledonian Sleeper, and London Overground. Destinations include Wigan, Stafford and Birmingham.

Stops on trains to Gatwick vary according to the operator, service and route. Gatwick Express services from London Victoria run directly to Gatwick Airport, while Southern trains may also call at Clapham Junction and East Croydon.

Arriving at Gatwick Airport

The London to Gatwick train arrives at Gatwick Airport station, located in the South Terminal. The station is just a five-minute walk from the terminal building, and a free shuttle will get you to the North Terminal in two minutes. Metrobus routes serve the local area, and Gatwick Hoppa buses run between the airport and nearby hotels. Gatwick is also served by national coaches.

Arrived at Gatwick Airport station with plenty of time before your flight? There are several walking routes around the area, and the airport is on the National Cycle Route 21 (NCR 21) from Greenwich in south-east London towards Groombridge, Eastbourne and Pevensey via Horley and Crawley. Riverside Garden Park is also nearby.

Gatwick Express, Southern, Thameslink and Great Western Railway operate rail services to Gatwick Airport. Their networks serve stations like Worthing, London Bridge, Reading and Bedford.

Gatwick Express train classes

• Standard Class: Travelling in Standard Class trains provides ample luggage space, comfortable seating, free W-iFi and plug sockets to charge your devices.
• First Class: London to Gatwick First Class perks include wide, more plush seats in a quieter carriage. As with Standard Class, tickets are usually available 12 weeks in advance. Book early to buy cheap train tickets.

Gatwick Express train travel advice

• Luggage: Gatwick Express doesn’t specify luggage limits, but all items should be in racks or under seats. Only Gatwick Airport station is entirely step-free.
• Bicycles: Non-folding bikes and e-bikes aren’t permitted on trains arriving at London Victoria between 7:00 and 10:00 and leaving Victoria between 16:00 and 19:00 Monday–Friday. E-scooters and hoverboards are banned.
• Children: Under-5s travel free with a fare-paying adult. Kids aged 5–15 and 16–17 Saver Railcard holders get 50% off most tickets. £2 off-peak tickets are available for 5–15-year-olds (four maximum) travelling with an adult.
• Pets: Up to two pets are allowed per passenger. They must be on a lead or in a carrier.
• Passenger Assist: You can book assistance, such as help with using ramps and moving your luggage, online, via the Transreport app or by phone. Assistance is also available if you haven’t booked.
