The journey from London Euston to Coventry takes around one hour and five minutes with Avanti West Coast. Alternatively, the route takes one hour and fifty minutes with West Midlands Railway. On your trip, you'll head from the East Midlands and Buckinghamshire, into Greater London, before arriving at Euston Station in North London.

Departing from London Euston

London Euston station is a busy station as it’s the southern terminus of the West Coast Main Line. Located on Euston Road in Camden, North London, it’s only half a mile away from London Kings Cross and London St Pancras International.

The station is really easy to reach via the London Underground, too, as it has a station that runs on the Victoria and Northern lines, and a nearby station named Euston Square serves the Circle, Metropolitan, and Hammersmith & City lines, too. Plus, if you’re arriving at the station from the surrounding area, plenty of buses stop along Euston Road, while taxis can drop you off at the station’s forecourt.

Caledonian Sleeper, West Midlands Trains, Avanti West Coast and the London Overground all run from London Euston, providing services to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, as well as within London and its surrounding areas.

Main stops

When travelling with West Midlands Trains, there are multiple stops, including Watford Junction, Leighton Buzzard, Bletchley, Milton Keynes Central, Wolverton, Northampton, Long Buckby, and Rugby. These stops may change, however, so it's best to check before you travel.

Arriving at Coventry

Coventry station is the city's main train station and is located around a ten-minute walk from the city centre, near Park Road. There are plenty of local buses and taxis near the station's main exit, if you'd prefer or need to travel a little further afield.

There are so many exciting things to do in Coventry, as the city possesses an excellent history. For example, Coventry is near Kenilworth Castle and has transport in its very DNA - being the home to the first bicycle and the first British car, which you can see for yourself at the Coventry Transport Museum. Alternatively, combine your visit to Kenilworth Castle with a visit to the Guildhall or Coventry Cathedral to gain a deeper understanding of the city's Medieval past.

Avanti West Coast, West Midlands Railway, and CrossCountry are the three rail operators at this station. Manchester Piccadilly, Liverpool Lime Street, and Birmingham New Street are some of the major destinations from this station.

• Luggage: Maximum of three items of luggage. This goes up to two larger items and one smaller bag, ensuring they are well-packed and do not obstruct the doors.
• Pets: Dogs, cats, and other small animals can travel for free. Dogs must be on a lead. Other animals must travel in carriers. There is a maximum of two pets per passenger.
• Bicycles: Bikes can be stored free of charge, but space is limited. No parking reservation needed, first come, first served. Full-size bikes can’t be taken on trains arriving or departing from London Euston between 07:00 am and 09:59 am or departing from London Euston between 4 pm and 6.59 pm on weekdays, except on public holidays.
• Children: Up to two children aged four and under can travel for free with a paying adult guardian. The Family & Friends Railcard offers up to 1/3 off family ticket costs.
