Trenitalia regional trains

You can enjoy quick, direct transfers from Genoa Airport to Genoa city thanks to Trenitalia’s regional trains, conveniently avoiding traffic. They connect the airport to Genoa Piazza Principe in about 12–16 minutes, with tickets starting from just £1.46.

Genoa Airport train station

Genoa Sestri Ponente Airport train station is located outside the airport, a 5-minute shuttle bus away. It has three platforms served by regional trains as well as direct connections from Milan Rogoredo and Milan Central.

The Genova Airlink shuttle bus departs from the AMT stop near the pedestrian walkway for connections to and from Genoa Airport. At the station, you will find a café, bathrooms, a waiting room and a tobacco shop.

You also have the choice of travelling to and from Genoa Airport by bus, with Volabus routes connecting it to Piazza Verdia (Genoa Brignole station) in about 30 minutes. Buses depart outside the Arrivals hall and stop at Genoa’s main stations, including Genoa Piazza Principe.

Volabus connections operate between 05:00 and midnight and travel on these buses is included in the 24-hour METDaily tickets, for travel on the city’s entire network at just €10 (about £8.70). Children also travel free (as long as they are under 3 ft 9 inches in height!).
