Getting from Bradford Forster Square to London Kings Cross takes under three hours with LNER. From the 19th of May, LNER will operate more trains travelling directly between Bradford Forster Square and London Kings Cross. It’s no surprise considering Bradford has been made the UK City of Culture for 2025.

On your journey, you’ll pass through West Yorkshire and make a few stops before thundering down the East Coast Mainline directly to London Kings Cross.

LNER runs on the East Coast Main Line, linking Eastern Scotland and Northern England cities to London. Key stops include Stevenage, Newcastle, and York.

Departing from Bradford Forster Square

Bradford Forster Station is a really convenient station to depart from. It’s located in the city centre, so it’s an easy station to reach and gives you the opportunity to grab a coffee, a bite to eat, or do a little shopping before your trip to London Kings Cross.

There is a taxi rank at the station’s entrance, and local bus services also serve the station if you’re coming from around the neighbouring areas. Bradford Interchange is on the opposite end of the city centre.

Main Stops

With LNER, there are only three stops from Bradford Forster Square to London Kings Cross: Shipley, Leeds, and Wakefield Westgate.

Arriving at London King’s Cross

London Kings Cross is a central transport hub in the UK capital. Its excellent connectivity and ideal location make it convenient to arrive at and packed with interesting things to do nearby.

The station acts as the southern terminus for the East Coast Mainline and is only a two-minute walk from London St Pancras International, which has rail links with the rest of mainland Europe, such as Gare du Nord in Paris, via Eurostar.

It also has excellent public transport links. Plenty of buses and taxi services run along Euston Road right outside the station’s main exit. But the real cherry on top of the cake is Kings Cross London Underground station, which serves several tube lines, including the Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City, and Victoria lines, making getting around London almost effortless.

There’s a wealth of activities to enjoy near London King’s Cross. Regent’s Park, the British Museum, the British Library, the Wellcome Collection and the energetic borough of Camden are all within walking distance. If you need to stay in a hotel, there are tons of pleasant hotels that accommodate any budget. There are chains like Kings Cross Travelodge and Premier Inn, swanky hotels like The Standard in nearby Bloomsbury and the elegant and majestic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, one of the most iconic in the world.

• First Class: A Bradford Forster Square to London King's Cross first-class ticket gives you access to complimentary food and drinks, larger seats and tables. First-Class lounge access is available at certain stations on the East Coast Mainline.

• Luggage: Passengers can bring up to three pieces of luggage. One small handbag, a carry-on bag and one large suitcase are allowed.
• Pets: Passengers can bring up to two dogs, cats or other small pets for free. Keep animals out of the aisles and off the seats.
• Bicycles: Bike reservations are free, compulsory and limited to one bike per customer (excluding folding bikes). Electric bikes can’t be charged on board.
• Children: Two children under 5 travel free with an adult; extra children need a Child ticket. Discounts apply for ages 5–15, groups of two adults and two to four children, and 16–17 Saver Railcard holders.
