• Bicycles: Folding bikes are allowed, but must remain folded for the whole journey. It is possible to travel with both standard bikes and e-bikes on LNER services, but they do require a reservation and may not be accommodated during peak times. E-scooters are not permitted.
• Children: Kids under 5 can travel for free, and children aged between 5 and 15 are eligible for 50% off in both Standard and First Class. Teenagers can also save 50% by purchasing the 16–17 Saver railcard. Family seating and baby-changing facilities are available both onboard and at main stations.
• Pets: Passengers may bring up to two pets on board at no extra cost. Dogs must be on a lead or in a carrier, and are not allowed to sit on the seats.
• Passenger Assist: Passenger Assist is available on LNER services, helping passengers with boarding, navigating stations and reserving space for wheelchairs. Book assistance when you purchase your ticket, through the app, or ask on the day at staffed stations.

Lumo train travel advice

Here’s all the information you need ahead of your London to Edinburgh train journey with Lumo, including travelling with children, bicycles and pets, luggage allowances and assisted travel.

• Luggage: On Lumo services, passengers can bring one small bag or holdall and one medium piece measuring a maximum of 63 x 41 x 27cm. Oversized luggage is not allowed. Use overhead racks or store bags at your feet to ensure aisles are kept clear.
