Frecciargento travel tips

Frecciargento trains are a popular way of getting around Italy. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your journey.

  • Frecciargento Wi-Fi and FRECCIAPlay

Free Wi-Fi is available on Frecciargento trains for passengers in both classes. When you're not busy scrolling online, you can pass the time with Trenitalia's entertainment portal, FRECCIAPlay. Access this and you'll encounter an impressive selection of movies, TV series and music, as well as the latest news and travel information.

  • Frecciargento Bar

FRECCIABistrò - the onboard bar - is open to all passengers throughout the duration of the journey. If you fancy something to eat or drink, or simply need a break, head over to the 3rd or 4th carriage where the bar's located.

An impressive selection of hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks are available at FRECCIABistrò. If you're feeling hungry, take your pick from pizzas, sandwiches, salads and more. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options, too. Refreshments include soft drinks, coffee and alcoholic beverages, such as beer and wine.

  • Frecciargento luggage allowance

On Frecciargento trains, you can travel with luggage and personal items at no extra charge to you. Bags and suitcases just need to be stored in designated spaces. Some trains even have special carriages with room for larger luggage.

  • Travelling with pets

Pets are accepted on Frecciargento trains. Small animals travel free of charge in a container of up to 70 x 30 x 50 cm. You'll need to buy a ticket for larger animals though, but these are inexpensive - it costs €5 (approx. £4.30) for travel from Sunday to Friday, and €1 (approx. £0.86) for travel on Saturday. Remember to bring a lead and a muzzle.
