Finsbury Park train station
Finsbury Park station is a busy north London interchange and one of the busiest outside zone 1. It provides two mainline services and key connections to the London Underground network before rail services enter central London. Originally named Seven Sisters Road (Holloway), the original station opened in 1861. Over time, the station has been gradually renovated. Refurbishments took place during the late 2010s. In 2019, a larger entrance by Wells Terrace opened. Additional entrances are on Station Place and Seven Sisters Road (open during peak times only). Since 2023, all platforms have had step-free access.
Finsbury Park has a ticket office and ticket machines for purchasing fares or collecting when you book train tickets online. Southbound services to Moorgate tend to depart from platform 1, whereas those heading towards Kings Cross and southbound Thameslink services typically call at platform 2. Northbound regional trains from Kings Cross and northbound Thameslink trains typically call at platform 7 (occasionally departing from platform 5). Platform 8 is generally used for northbound services from Moorgate.
Getting to and from Finsbury Park
Plenty of buses (including night routes) stop outside the station entrances and nearby. Finsbury Park is on the London Underground network, and passengers can take the stairs or lifts down to the Piccadilly and Victoria line platforms. A taxi rank is located at Station Place, and 125 bike spaces are outside the station on Stroud Green Road. There is no car park at Finsbury Park station.
