Storm Bram affects Transport for Wales services

Related Information:The Met Office have issued yellow and amber weather warnings covering Wales today as Storm Bram is forecast to bring strong winds and heavy rain. Please check your entire journey before you travel. Current disruptions to services: Aberdare and Abercynon. Flooding between Aberdare and Abercynon means all lines are closed. Train services running between these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised to start / terminate at Fernhill. Disruption on this route is expected to continue until 10:00. Rail replacement coaches are in operation between Aberdare and Mountain Ash. You may also use your rail tickets, at no extra cost, on Stagecoach Bus services from Aberdare on the routes to Abercynon. Through Pantyffynnon. Flooding at Pantyffynnon means all lines are closed. Trains running through this station will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 14:30. Rail replacement transport is running between Swansea and Pantyffynnon, provided by Cymru and Francis.

Related Information:The Met Office have issued yellow and amber weather warnings across England and Wales today as Storm Bram is forecast to bring strong winds and heavy rain today. Please check your entire journey before you travel. Current disruptions to services: Swindon and Bristol Parkway. Flooding between Swindon and Bristol Parkway the line is closed. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. This primarily affects the train service between London Paddington and South Wales; usually a half hourly service, today is reduced to hourly. These services (running between London Paddington and Swansea) will divert, adding at least 25 minutes onto journey times. In order to reduce congestion along the diversionary route, the London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads is also reduced to hourly for much of the day. Please also be aware that due to engineering works this week, the London Paddington to Plymouth / Penzance services are also diverting, and these too will be taking the diversionary route, although is not expected to lose as much time on the diversion.

Unstable ground conditions close Bransty Tunnel between Corkickle and Whitehaven

Related Information:During pre-planned engineering work at Bransty Tunnel, between Corkickle and Whitehaven, inspections revealed unstable ground conditions which require urgent repair. As a result, the line through the tunnel is closed. Buses are replacing trains between Corkickle and Whitehaven. Disruption is expected until further notice. A visual disruption map video is available. Customer advice: Service impact Train services are running between Lancaster / Barrow-in-Furness and Corkickle, and also between Whitehaven and Carlisle. Buses will replace trains between Corkickle and Whitehaven. Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by road transport. Ticket acceptance If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern or TransPennine Express service within two hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart. This is at no extra cost, and does not require you to amend your ticket.

Related Information:The Met Office have issued yellow and amber weather warnings covering Scotland today as Storm Bram is forecast to bring strong winds and heavy rain today and tomorrow, Wednesday 10 December. Please check your entire journey before you travel. The following routes are currently affected: Glasgow Central and Carlisle until 14:00. Kilmarnock / Ayr and Stranraer until 14:00. Kilmarnock and Girvan until 14:00. Glasgow Central and Kilmarnock until 15:00. The following routes will be affected later today: Kyle of Lochalsh and Inverness from 17:00 until the end of the day. Inverness and Edinburgh / Glasgow Queen Street from 18:00 until 08:00 tomorrow. Wick and Inverness from 20:00 until the end of the day. Inverness and Aberdeen from 20:00 until 08:00 tomorrow. Customer advice: Speed restrictions will be implemented throughout the day on various routes meaning journeys will take longer than normal. To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost, on alternative ScotRail services via any reasonable route. You may also travel on earlier services then planned. Alternatively, you may wish to postpone travel until after lines reopen with tickets valid until Thursday 11 December. Unless stated, replacement transport will not be provided so you are advised to make sure you can complete your journey before departing for the station.
