Related Information:The line between Liskeard and Looe remains closed following a period of recent heavy rain which flooded the track.
The heavy rainfall, combined with high tides, resulted in the water levels at several bridges along the line being above the level which allows for trains to run safely. Investigations took place once the water levels receded and the results of the investigations have confirmed some damage that will require repair work. This will need to be carried out before the line can be reopened and trains are able to run again.

Currently we do not expect to run trains until Tuesday 27 January at the earliest with disruption expected until at least the end of the day on Wednesday 28 January.

The direct Horsham - London Victoria service will either be cancelled; or terminate at Dorking (Main) and start back from there.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
A landslip was reported in the Ockley area on Friday evening, and a temporary arrangement was put in place for this weekend to allow some trains to run through the area, as this route is being used as a diversion for other engineering work taking place elsewhere on our network.
To allow for permanent repair work to commence, specialist Network Rail teams and equipment will need access to the track and surrounding embankment – meaning that all lines through this route will be blocked until this work is complete.
A full line closure is expected from today, Monday 26 until at least Friday 30 January, between Horsham and Dorking (Main). There is a possibility that this timescale will be extended, but we will keep you updated throughout the week with progress.
Landslips can happen for a number of reasons, including severe weather. Areas at risk of landslips are monitored proactively to ensure that the track is safe, and Southern also receive reports from train crews of any risks to the railway.
