Inverness Airport train station is roughly 9 miles (14 kilometres)) northeast of Inverness. All services are operated by ScotRail. The station is unstaffed. It has direct access to Inverness Airport via an open pathway or bus.

It’s approximately a 15–20-minute walk from Inverness Airport train station to the airport terminal building. Follow the signs to the pathway going around the airfield. The pathway is well-lit but isn’t covered. Alternatively, you can take bus routes 11, 11A, or 10A (late evenings and Sundays) operated by Stagecoach, which stop at the bus station just behind the railway station. Journeys take roughly four minutes.

Inverness Airport trains are served by ScotRail. There are direct services from Inverness station to Inverness Airport train station. Both stations have step-free access to platforms, and the train to Inverness Airport and the connecting bus from Inverness Airport train station include luggage racks and wheelchair spaces.

Trains from Inverness to Inverness Airport take approximately nine minutes, running once every hour and operating from 04:54 to 22:15. The train fare varies depending on the time of travel and ticket type. Cheap train tickets start at £7.00. Opt for Advance tickets where possible, which save you up to 60% when booked early. Railcard holders can save up to 1/3 off fares.

It is a relatively short walk from Inverness Airport train station to the airport, but if you have heavy luggage or want to keep out of the rain, we recommend hopping on a bus. Stagecoach bus routes 11, 11A, and 10A (late evenings and Sundays) stop at the bus station behind the train station. Buses run at least once an hour between 05:54 and 23:44 on weekdays, 06:01 and 23:44 on Saturdays, and 10:32 and 21:32 on Sundays. It takes less than five minutes to reach Inverness Airport.
