Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 train station

Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 station provides high-speed and local mainline train services to Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at London Heathrow Airport.

Opening in 1998, the station had non-stop services to Paddington in central London via the Heathrow Express. The completion of the Elizabeth line in 2022 introduced links to the airport from the West End, the City of London, east and south-east London, as well as Essex. Trains westbound of Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 station serve Terminal 4 (Elizabeth line) and Terminal 5 (Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express). Transfers between terminals by train are free.

Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 station has trolleys, free WiFi, cash machines, a currency exchange service and machines to buy train tickets. The ticket office is open 05:00–23:59 Monday to Sunday. The station has shops but no kiosks for refreshments. Toilets and baby changing facilities are located within the station (please note that there are no accessible toilets).

Getting to and from Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3

Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 station is close to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 Tube station on the Piccadilly Line. Underground walkways lead to the bus station. You can connect to local and long-distance buses and coaches, including National Express coaches to Victoria Coach Station and Gatwick Airport. There is no bicycle storage area or station car park. Taxi ranks, car parks and car hire services are available at the airport’s terminals.

Trains to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3

Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 station is served by direct Heathrow Express trains from Paddington in central London and the Elizabeth line, which stops at local stations. The Elizabeth line has cheap train tickets compared to the speedier Heathrow Express.

London Paddington to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3

Ten hourly trains operate to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3. You can be at the airport in just 15 minutes with the Heathrow Express. The Elizabeth line takes about 27 minutes.

Shenfield to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3

It takes just over an hour to 1 hour and 26 minutes to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3. There are two direct services an hour, and six hourly trains if you change at Stratford or Whitechapel.

Ealing Broadway to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3

Up to six trains run from Ealing Broadway to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, taking no more than 20 minutes.

Birmingham to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3

Journeys from Birmingham New Street or Birmingham Moor Street to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 require at least two changes for the Tube (at Euston or Marylebone) and the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth Line. It takes roughly 2.5–3.5 hours.

Main train companies at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3

The primary operators at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 are the Heathrow Express and the Elizabeth line. The Heathrow Express is a fast, non-stop service to the airport, travelling along the Great Western Main Line to London Paddington in only 15 minutes. Elizabeth line trains stop at local stations, continuing beyond Paddington towards the City of London and its termini in Abbey Wood or Shenfield.

Few may know that several green spaces surround Heathrow Airport. Myrtle Avenue is a favourite for plane spotters. The Heathrow Academy has an official viewing platform. Located just off the perimeter road, buses to the Academy stop at the airport.
