Clapham Junction train station

Clapham Junction is an important railway hub in south-west Battersea in the London Borough of Wandsworth. Although it has “Clapham” in its name, the station is 1 mile (1.6 km) away from the area. Instead, the station’s name refers to it being at the junction of several rail lines. Clapham Junction is a southern terminus on the London Overground network, on the Brighton Main Line and South West Main Line, and it has many other routes funnelling through the station. Over 2,000 trains pass Clapham Junction every day, and over half of them alight. It is one of the busiest UK stations for interchanges, so much so that it’s the only station in the country to record more interchanges than entries or exits.

Clapham Junction station is open 04:00–01:00 Monday to Thursday, 24 hours Friday to Saturday and 04:00–01:00 on Sunday. Local buses stop on St John’s Hill and Grant Road near Clapham Junction station. Cars can pick up and set down passengers in Brighton Yard in front of the station; waiting is not allowed. An accessible taxi rank is located in the same location. For drivers wishing to park, an APCOA car park is by the Grant Road entrance.
