City Thameslink train station

City Thameslink is a rail station in the City of London between Farringdon and Blackfriars. Opening its doors in 1990, the station was part of a Thameslink project to reopen the Snow Hill tunnel for continuous travel through London and replaced Holborn Viaduct station. City Thameslink is near the City’s border with the City of Westminster, and has two entrances on Ludgate Hill and Holborn Viaduct. It was initially called St Paul’s Thameslink, but was renamed a year later to avoid confusion with St Paul’s station on the London Underground network. City Thameslink is one of the few central London railway stations with no Tube interchange.

Refurbished in the early 2010s to increase capacity, City Thameslink is a bustling commuter station during weekdays, linking passengers to offices in the City and London’s historic legal district. The station is shut on Sundays, and the ticket office is open 07:15–19:45 from Monday to Friday.
