Avanti West Coast trains take you to the heart of Coventry. Most attractions are no more than a 20-minute walk. Many bus routes stop by the adjacent interchange or railway bridge.

As one of the busiest stations in the West Midlands, Coventry station connects you to plenty of destinations. Head north to Manchester, Carlisle or Glasgow, or discover southern towns and cities such as London and Reading. • Standard Premium Class: Avanti West Coast include Standard Premium Class on certain routes. These carriages offer some perks from First Class, such as wider seating and additional legroom. Power sockets are fitted to each window seat.
• First Class: If you choose to travel from Nottingham to Coventry first class, only the second leg of the journey operated by Avanti West Coast will have First Class accommodation. As with other CrossCountry services offering First Class carriages, passengers enjoy wider seating and receive complimentary refreshments. • Luggage: Both operators limit luggage to one small bag, one medium bag and one large suitcase (90 x 70 x 30 centimetres max.) per passenger.
• Bicycles: CrossCountry recommends reserving a space, but it is compulsory on Avanti West Coast trains. You’ll need a copy of your reservation on board. E-bikes shouldn’t exceed 250 watts, and e-scooters are banned.
• Children: With both operators, most fares are 50% off for kids aged 5–15, and under-5s travel free with an adult. The Family and Friends Railcard can also offer further savings. Older teens can get half-price fares with the 16–17 Saver Railcard.
• Pets: Up to two pets can board both trains for free. They must be in a carrier or on a lead and off seats.
• Passenger Assist: CrossCountry and Avanti West Coast staff can help you book assistance (e.g., moving around stations) or answer queries. Avanti West Coast advises requesting help two hours before you travel.
