London Euston train station

As the nation’s first and busiest intercity railway station, London Euston has important links to Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and other destinations. Named after the Dukes of Grafton’s estate, Euston Hall, in Suffolk, the original station site was still farmland owned by the dukes when the station was proposed to be built in 1833. With rail travel proving popular, Euston station had to be expanded just nine years after opening. The station was completely rebuilt as steam trains were being phased out by the 1950s. The Great Hall and Doric Arch were removed to create a more open concourse over two levels.

London Euston station will also be the terminus of the new High Speed 2 (HS2) railway. Construction works to accommodate the line are ongoing.

There are WiFi hotspots around the current station, as well as dining and shopping outlets, luggage storage facilities and cash machines. You can get the best deals when you book train tickets in advance, but fares can also be purchased from the ticket office or machines. First Class ticket holders for Avanti West Coast and Caledonian Sleeper services have access to the First Class lounge on the balcony.

London Euston station has direct access to the Tube station on the Northern and Victoria lines. Euston Square Tube station is just 150 metres away, connecting you to the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. The bus station and taxi rank are in front of the main entrance, and there are additional bus stops on Eversholt Street. Bicycle racks are available near the bus station, in the piazza and outside Melton Street.
