Valence Rhône-Alpes Sud train station in Alixan is only 3.6 miles (5.9 km) from the Alixan city centre. Gare de Valence station has a beautifully designed façade with floor-to-ceiling windows. The building has two levels, with the top serving TER trains and the bottom level for TGV trains. To get from the city to the station, you can use the efficient public transportation system as it is cheaper than travelling by taxi. Take line 21 on both the bus and train. The bus will take about 17min and the train is a 6min ride. Around six buses depart daily while trains depart every hour. You could also walk to and from the train station which will take around 30min. This is a great way to discover the city as there is much to see near the station
